While creating this collection, we didn't just give someone a "job." We sat side-by-side with Ankara's artisans, women's cooperatives, and social entrepreneurs. We thought together, we experimented together. The products emerged from a challenging process of research, discussion, and work, both on paper and in their tangible three-dimensional forms.
In the Trio Bozkır soap set, for example, the color and concept originated at Impact Hub Ankara, but a female social entrepreneur chemist developed the soap formulas, sourcing natural dyes from an ecological producer and healing oils and aromas from local ethical producers. She shared the ready-made formula with a women's cooperative producing soap in Ankara and provided them with training. This is how the soaps were produced. The boxes were made by a veteran printer who still wants to contribute to his work. Many hands touched the products, just like the layers of the story the products tell.
This chain exists in every product in the collection. From business development to communication strategy, we worked with a social entrepreneur and a local producer at every stage. The financing for the production of the collection was covered by a revenue-sharing investment and a Revolving Fund. All income generated from this will go back to social enterprises, producers, and Impact Hub Ankara's human and planet-first initiatives.
What we advocate for in social procurement, we put into practice by combining it with our love for Ankara. We don't just pay attention to what is produced, but how and with whom it is produced, because all our purchasing choices determine who will grow and which community will survive. When you buy a product from this collection, you also become a link in this chain.
We are proud to do such work for Ankara, with the people of Ankara. But we are not here to make just one collection. We want to take what we have been trying to do with 10 Numara Dükkan and SEPET for years further with Bağ, like an ecosystem that grows together, nourishing each other, like a river.
