To the hidden streams that gently murmur with Ankara, with gratitude
One of Ankara's unseen faces is the network of streams that flow beneath and through the city's memory. Waterways stretching from the Çubuk Stream to the Hatip Stream, from Karakusunlar to İncesu, form a silent network that nourishes the city's soil, vineyards, gardens, and natural life. Although most of them have now receded from view, these streams continue to shape Ankara's geography, neighborhoods, vegetation, and daily life.
These waters carry the shadows of vineyard houses, the coolness of summer evenings, the bounty of gardens, the birds multiplying around lakes, and the unexpected colors of the steppe. Beneath Ankara's calm and unassuming facade lies a vibrant natural memory that has grown through the paths opened by water. Trio Renkler draws inspiration from this hidden memory. The stream carvings on its ceramic body salute the waterways flowing beneath Ankara. The hand-woven fabric layers draped over the body, in turn, carry the colors, textures, and vitality of the nature nourished by these waters.
At first glance, Ankara appears to be a simple, calm, and understated city. As you draw closer, colors multiply within the steppe: the Ankara crocus, the Gölbaşı love flower, hawthorn trees, junipers, birds gathered around lakes, and the vineyards' seasonal hues.
In Trio Renkler, the textile layers embracing the ceramic body are abstractions of these hidden colors and natural textures. Each garment pays homage to another natural element of Ankara: bird wings, flowers, trees, streams, and the silent richness of the steppe.
These garments do not act merely as a covering that completes the surface of the ceramic; they add a second layer of story to the product. The trace of water in the ceramic, the color of nature in the fabric, and Ankara's tangible memory in the handcrafted details become visible.
These visual layers are accompanied by the deep and refreshing scent of juniper. Juniper carries the resilience of the steppe, its silent power spreading over time, and its rooted nature. The presence of juniper around Ankara is one of the important parts of the city's natural memory. Kaba Ardıç, located in the Nallıhan Erenler Region and a registered natural monument approximately 750 years old, is one of the strongest symbols of this memory.
Trio Renkler's natural juniper essence is inspired by this ancient presence. With its refreshing, earthy, and deep scent, it adds a sensory dimension to the river traces carried by the ceramics and the color layers carried by the fabric. Thus, Trio Renkler brings together Ankara's hidden rivers in ceramics, the colors nourished by these waters in fabric, and the timeless memory of juniper in scent.
The ebru applications on Duo Nallıhan’s silk surfaces are handcrafted by ebru artist Meltem Melkuç. The colors that take shape on the water transform Nallıhan's rock layers, valleys, and natural movement into an abstract language of design.
The scent of Trio Colours is prepared with natural juniper essence, specially developed for the collection. Obtained from essential oils, this fragrance carries the fresh, earthy, and lasting character of juniper.
The garment on the fragrance diffuser is shaped using handicraft upholstery techniques. Details inspired by traditional methods such as crocus embroidery, ribbon embroidery, stem stitch, wings, and patchwork refer to Ankara's birds, flowers, and natural textures. Each fabric layer is designed as a separate piece of color and memory, draped over the ceramic body.
